History
Abbey Press is a direct marketing, printing and publishing firm owned by Saint Meinrad Archabbey, a Benedictine Monastery nestled in the gently rolling hills of Southern Indiana. Abbey Press was founded in 1867 when Saint Meinrad Archabbey purchased its first printing equipment. Though begun primarily for the use of the monastic community, the Press grew to become a major source of support for the Archabbey-and would continue to grow to include not just the printing business, but also a successful publications division; and the Christian Family Catalog, a direct marketer of religious and inspirational gifts.
