Mark Wahlberg was born on June 25, 1971 - an American entertainer, now known primarily as an actor. He first came to fame as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the New Kids on the Block. After his brother's bubblegum pop group ended, Mark Wahlberg began recording as Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch, earning a hit with "Good Vibrations" from Music for the People. Wahlburg's second LP, You Gotta Believe, was a relative failure. In the next few years, Mark Wahlberg was seen most prominently in a series of underwear ads from Calvin Klein. Mark Wallberg then began an acting career, earning extremely positive reviews in movies like Boogie Nights, Three Kings, and The Perfect Storm.
Calvin Klein’s underwear business, promoted later in the 1990s with giant billboards of pop singer "Marky Mark" Mark Wahlberg, was so successful that his underpants became generally known as 'Calvins'.
Calvin Klein underwear, while worn by many heterosexual men, has for a long time been favored by the gay community, particularly the modern boxer briefs. Most gay-related shops sell the brand, it has entered gay sub culture as a "uniform".
Mark Wahlberg, went on to fame as hip hop star 'Marky Mark', launching himself into the Hollywood scene to become a current "A-list" actor.
